Healthy Growth

· Salon Tips,Education,Hair Care,Scalp Treatment

You’ve probably seen the lady who hasn’t had her hair cut in years – she’s usually proud of how long her hair is, even though it’s straggly and thin at the ends.

The reality is, her hair is very unhealthy!

Just like your nails, your hair is constantly growing. And just like your nails, the longer it gets, the easier it is to break. The challenge is that once your strands begin to break, they don’t stop. Unless those broken pieces are cut off with a pair of highly sharp scissors or a razor, the breakage will slowly spread up the length of the shaft.

Think of it like a hang nail: unless you cut it off, it will continue to tear and move further into the nail bed. Same thing with your hair strands! Once your strands begin to break, the breakage will grow up the strand even as the strand is growing from its root.

To protect the integrity of the strand and prevent further breakage making its way up the hair, it’s important to sever those broken ends from the rest of the hair!
